Effective Talent Management in Organisations

Managing TALENT 4.0

The workplace as we know it today may well cease to exist. Western Europe's mobile worker population is set to rise to 120 million by 2021, up from 103 million in 2017.

By 2030, 80% of the world's population will live in cities, fuelling smart working, with its focus on the mobility, flexibility and project-based configuration of work teams, thanks to the rollout of technology across all stages of one's working life and the growing popularity of coworking spaces.

Added to this new conception of the labour market is an increasingly pressing shortage of talent. Twenty-four percent of organisations across Europe admit they don’t have enough people with digital skills and that finding them “is a challenge1”. Over the next seven years, 30% of European companies will move from traditional talent recruitment models to virtual, borderless and task-oriented approaches.

Attracting and retaining digital talent is already a struggle for companies and institutions today, caught up in Industry 4.0 or the fourth industrial revolution, a context of major technological innovation impacting all sectors and the whole of society.

The 360 Employee: Technology at the Service of People

Companies and institutions must make themselves attractive to these new employees, onboard them, build their loyalty and leverage them to help drive change in the rest of the organisation. They must also ensure data security in these new work styles marked by hyperconnectivity, in the face of growing cyber threats, guaranteeing policies that deliver regulatory compliance and flexibility in the use of devices.

This document sets out the insights of the IECISA experts who have worked on numerous projects to transform the workplace, where the need for a holistic view of the employee experience was ascertained. The overarching approach integrates the smart workspace that combines the need to adapt new spaces, the upgrading of the technology associated with the workplace and the incorporation of new trends in Employee 4.0 behaviour, ensuring regulatory compliance.
