Five students from La Salle University and six from Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid are completing internships alongside the best professionals in SAP technologies at IECISA. It is the first group of SAP students to join the technology consultancy.

Madrid, 22 January 2020.- A group of students from the Master’s degree course in Functional Consultancy SAP at the universities of La Salle and Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid have already started their internships at Informática El Corte Inglés, thanks to the collaboration agreement between the two academic institutions with this technology consultancy. Over the coming months, students will receive formal training in technology and its methodologies, while the internships will be carried out in real environments, under the supervision and support of the best SAP technology professionals at IECISA.

On their first day in training, the students were able to learn about the workings of the company and IECISA’s experience with SAP technology: “Within the strategy of the SAP Division of Informática El Corte Inglés, it is essential to carry out policies for young talent recruitment and staff development”, said José Luis García De La Iglesia, Senior Manager, Corporate Management Systems, in his welcome address to the students. “Technological changes in the markets, in our client base, the accelerated evolution of existing technologies, and the addition of new ones within the SAP portfolio – he stressed – offer the opportunity to incorporate young talent and require the creation of a knowledge base to support our clients’ projects.”

Víctor Manuel Hita, Training & Talent Development Lead, and Cristina Arencibia, IT Talent Acquisition, Training & Talent Development, both from the Human Resources Department, have organised the reception for this year’s Master’s students, who have been provided with the logistical support required for this new stage. “Our clients trust us and our work, so we need to be constantly growing, learning from new technologies and innovating.” – explains Victor Manuel Hita –. “You – he told them – play a key role in this evolution, you are the future of companies and at IECISA we want to accompany you in your professional development. Our goal – insisted Hita – is for you to gain the most knowledge from the great industry experts, who are here. And the Corporate University wants you to feel like one of the team,” Hita concluded.

The students, who will carry out their internship until the end of the academic year at the technology consultancy, have been assigned to IECISA’s Corporate Management Systems section. They will focus on some of the many and varied projects related to SAP technology linked to the public sector, industry and tourism, among others.

In addition to the collaboration agreements with La Salle University and Rey Juan Carlos University, IECISA has also approached other establishments such as the University of Valencia for the same purpose, where a presentation was given at the SAP Master Companies Forum, and La Salle in Barcelona. Four more students will soon be joining the Barcelona office and another five will be joining the Valencia office.

Through these agreements with educational establishments, Informática El Corte Inglés maintains its willingness to contribute to reducing the gap between universities and companies, its commitment to bringing training in new technologies closer to the market and its firm commitment to talent.
